The General Assembly of the European Network In the Footsteps of Robert Louis Stevenson was held on 7 November 2024 in Langogne, in the Cévennes region of France.
The discussions at the General Meeting, chaired by Martin White, Chairman, highlighted the joint work of territories that promote the Robert Louis Stevenson’s values of humanism, openness to others and tolerance, by conferences, the creation of walking routes with audioguides and a variety of events. The spirit of Stevenson will continue to guide the members of the network, welcoming”friends of the network” and encouraging exchanges with exchanges with other European cultural routes.
The delegation, in gratitude for the excellent welcome they received from the town of Langogne, planted three Stevenson rosebushes at the foot of the statue depicting him and Modestine.
The book produced by Gallimard: Sur les chemins de Stevenson: Cévennes & autres itinéraires européens was presented and is now available for sale!
It has been written by journalists who have travelled the regions to present their assets, giving pride of place to their feelings and photographs..
