From 25 to 27 September 2024, the Annual Consultative Forum on Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe was held in Visegrád, in Hungary. The theme of the event is “Transmission and innovation: Encouraging the participation of young people along the Council of Europe’s Cultural Routes “, brought together a wide range of participants, including representatives of the Member States, stakeholders in the Cultural Routes, networks applying for certification, as well as international organisations, local and regional authorities, chambers of commerce, foundations, and tourism and cultural platforms.
A large number of examples of action aimed at young people were presented. The interest lay in the diversity of the examples and their use in most of the itineraries
The fact that the forum is being held in Hungary has encouraged the presence of former Eastern Bloc countries such as the Baltic States.
Our General Secretary, Michel Legros, represented the European network In the Footsteps of Robert Louis Stevenson. On behalf of the Stevenson Network, he made the following statement:
My name is Michel Legros and I am General Secretary of the Itinerary ” In the footsteps of Robert Louis Stevenson”, in agreement with Eleonora Berti, President of the French Federation of European Cultural Routes, we offer you this short text:
“As we come to the end of this forum, which has enabled so many exchanges and encounters, we should not part without expressing to our friends of the Cultural Routes in Ukraine our friendship and support during this terrible ordeal “.
Statement strongly applauded by Forum participants
The next forum will take place in October 2025 in Turkey.
